Don't worry you're not alone, … A bedroom mistake that still haunts me.
We all make mistakes of course, how else would we learn, but years ago before I became an interior designer, I made a bit of a costly one. I was fitting out my first home and fell in love with a bedroom set ...you know how it is, you see it in the showroom, the sales assistant is so helpful, and you've got to have it.
It felt like Christmas when it arrived after a ten-week wait but I knew straight away that it was wrong. My excitement turned to a cold sweat as the realisation sunk in that it was far too big for the room!
It did eventually fit but only after we removed doors and door frames and even then, there still wasn't enough space to move. I was distraught, it was the main bedroom, and I had all kinds of plans for it.
I couldn't even return it because I had removed all the packaging to make it fit! Bedroom furniture sets are a big investment so for me, it was a very expensive mistake, and one I had to live with for a very long time. Ever since my motto has been "Measure Twice, Cut Once".
